Product details

Created in Japan, the Hori Hori planting tool was originally used for the meticulous and methodical excavation of plants in the mountains. Our version of this classic tool has been designed for market gardening, floriculture, and gardening work. It is an ideal tool for picking up, digging, and pulling out weeds, but it is also very useful in planting operations.

The smooth walnut handle fits perfectly with the tempered blade for a tool that feels good in the hand. Known for its density and fine, straight grain, walnut gives the Hori Hori handle a high-end look without being too heavy.

The leather case protects the blade from dulling. The belt holder facilitates transport and accessibility, while the handle strap prevents the blade from slipping or moving.

Blade Care

Apply a thin layer of protective oil after each use. Regularly wipe off dirt and water. Use a medium to fine file to straighten out the major dents and nicks in the blade. The edge can be sharpened using a medium-sized sharpening disk or stone.

The Hori Hori is not designed to be stored outside for long periods. Prolonged exposure to moisture can cause rust and unnecessary wear. We recommend storing your tools indoors after use to make them last as long as possible.
